The story behind the name

PARIS - NYC

PARIS - NYC

The origin of the French 75 cocktail dates back to 1922 and was influenced by the First World War which had ended a few years before. It was someone by the name of Harry MacElhone of Harry's New York Bar in Paris who invented the cocktail at that time, in reference to the French 75 mm cannon which he considered "comparable" in terms of effect.
